How are our shampoo bars made?
- All shampoo bars and sticks are made using the traditional cold process method, which is a combination of mixing oils and butters and a sodium hydroxide solution (lye + water). Soap can not be made without lye. When mixed, a exothermic reaction occurs called saponification. No lye remains in the soap after saponification. What is left is a salt of a fatty acid, which we call soap!
