FAQ - What are the ingredients use in saponification?

FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions:

What are the ingredients use in saponification?
    • Sodium hydroxide (NaOH): also known as lye, is an essential ingredient in the soap making process. When sodium hydroxide beads or flakes are mixed with a liquid, a lye solution is created.
    • Sodium lactate: derived from the natural fermentation of sugars found in corn and beets, sodium lactate is the sodium salt of lactic acid. Commonly used as a preservative. It’s also an extremely effective humectant, helping to strengthen the skin moisture barrier.
    • Lime: the citric acid from the lime juice is used to lower the pH of the handmade soap, making a gentler soap.
    • Pink Himalayan salt: powerful detoxifier as this ionic salt solution helps to extract the toxins out of your skin and tissues. The Himalayan pink salt penetrates your skin, leaving you feeling refreshed and nourished. Known for its nourishing, soothing, exfoliating and moisturizing properties. Plus salt bars have a very creamy lather. Soaking in a Himalayan salt crystal bath is like soaking in an ocean of energy.
    • Distilled water: it helps us with consistency!!!! By using distilled water in our soap making, we know that we aren’t adding anything that could possibly cause any problems with our batch of soap, shampoo bars, sticks ans shampoos. Also, soap made with distilled water can be marketed as “pure”. This may be a significant difference to our clients.
