Coronavirus prevention: How to make your own hydroalcoholic gel / hand sanitizer gel ? New recipe
So I try to buy some alcohol (ethanol 96% or isopropanol 99.8%) yesterday but it's are sold out / out of stock everywhere ...
But I still had a little less than 16 oz so here the recipe for 8 oz / 1 cup of homemade hydroalcoholic gel / hand sanitizer gel inspired by the World Health Organization (WHO)'s recipe
Ingredients
Here are the quantities to obtain one cup of hydroalcoholic solution / hand sanitizer:
- 7.49 fl oz / 15 tbsp of alcohol (ethanol 96% or isopropanol 99.8%);*
- 0.38 fl oz / 3 tsp of hydrogen peroxide (3% hydrogen peroxide);
- 0.13 fl oz / 1 tsp of vegetable glycerin
- 4 drops of tea tree oil
- distilled or boiled water to complete.
*Note: you can replace the alcohol with Gin or Vodka
**Note: you can replace the glycerin with vegetable glycerin or aloe vera gel and add some essential oils for the scent

1 / Pour the amount of alcohol (96% ethanol or 99.8% isopropanol) necessary for the preparation of the product in the bottle.
2 / Add hydrogen peroxide (3% hydrogen peroxide).
3 / Add the vegetable glycerin (glycerol 98%).
4 / Add distilled water or cooled boiled water.
5 / Add 4 drop os tea tree oil.
6 / In order to avoid any evaporation, quickly close the container using the cap.
6 / Mix the preparation by gently shaking the bottle.
7 / Place the filled bottle in quarantine for 72 hours, time allowing the destruction of bacterial spores potentially present in the alcohol or in the bottle (new or reused).
8 / Label the bottle:
The labeling of the bottle must comply with national regulations and must include the following information:

• Composition: ethanol or isopropanol, glycerol and hydrogen peroxide.
• Flammable liquid: keep away from heat and any flame.
